Op-Ed: Our Most Dangerous Enemy

Gershon Mesika, Shomron Regional Council Head

Hamas is an overt danger. So are Islamic Jihad and other terrorist organizations. The head of the Samaria Regional Council explains why the Palestinian Authority is a more subtle and even greater danger.

A well-known story tells of how  a Mukhtar (village chieftain) in an Arab village turned to his Jewish "settler" neighbor and asked him for help. The Mukhtar explained to the Jew that a PalestinianAuthority police officer was persecuting him and his family, and is now demanding that he be given the chieftain's daughters. The Israeli promised to help, and the PA officer soon stopped bothering the Mukhtar.
When the Israeli was asked how he managed it, he remained silent, but those who live nearby tell that he knocked on the PA officer's door in the dead of night and warned him that if the problem continued, he would have the Israeli to deal with. And it worked.
The location and the names of those involved are not for publication, but the story is absolutely true. It must seem almost like science fiction to anyone who gets his information from the mainstream media. After all, doesn't it sound as though the world turned upside down – a "settler" who rescues an  Arab from the Arab's own "security forces"?
Life in proximity to Arab villages creates its own dynamic of contacts, some bloody and publicized, some peaceful, cooperative – and well-hidden [for the sake of the lives of the Arabs involved]. The positive initiatives were once visible, but ever since "Peace Accords" were signed, there hasn't been much peace.
As head of the Samaria (Shomron) Regional Council, I am party to quite a few meetings with Arab public figures from nearby villages. There was one large meeting with tens of participants, including officers in the PA Security Forces, whose main message was a plea to "get rid of the  bunch of corrupt gangsters who run the Terrorist Authority". The participants begged me to get the State of Israel to offer to protect them, promising to come out publicly against the PA if that happens.
I passed on the message in detail to the highest echelons of the IDF, but for some reason, they turned a cold shoulder to the request. The military, its Intelligence Corps and Israeli politicians are in love with the PA – our most dangerous enemy.
Yes, the Palestinian Authority is our most dangerous enemy – not Hamas, not Islamic Jihad, not IS. Those organizations are known murderers and the danger they represent is obvious to everyone, while Abbas and his cohorts are the only ones who understand the Jewish Diaspora mentality that is the
They...easily blind the eyes of the Israelis, who, like battered-children, yearn to hear a good word from the goyim.
norm in Israel.
Cleverly, they do us a big favor by condescending to talk to us, publicize false "peace" announcements, tell the world how they oppose terror and easily blind the eyes of the Israelis, who, like battered-children, yearn to hear a good word from the goyim.
In actual fact, the PA developed a school curriculum that, for the last twenty years, has been raising generation after generation of young people who are consumed by hate and guided by murderous nationalism.  They go to schools named for terrorist murderers, where they are taught that Israel has no right to exist and that Beit Shean, Haifa, Yaffo, Ashkelon are Palestinian cities, and that King David, Abraham, Jesus and Moses were all Palestinians. History, geography and culture are all rallied – to the point of absurdity - to bolster the lies that make up the Palestinian "narrative".
The official PA media are filled with incitement, its representatives are proud of the fact the the PLO has murdered more Israelis than Hamas, it rewards Palestinian Arab prisoners in Israeli prisons with salaries that are proportional to the length of their sentences and the scope of their murders. The PA also turns to international forums in an attempt to isolate Israel and turn her into a pariah state.
The real face of the PA was exposed through facts on the ground: for example, the Oslo Agreements established a fair division of water sources in Judea and Samaria. The PA received permission to drill on the eastern side of the hilltop aquifer because any drilling on the western side would dry up the water sources within the Green Line (1949 Armistice Lines). They drilled at less than half the locations to which they were entitled, but encouraged at least 250 unlawful drillings on the western side.
The same approach repeated itself when it came to sewage treatment: the PA refuses to accept donations for constructing a sewage purification system, even though the waste continues to poison their "Palestinian homeland". The fact that most of it flows westward and pollutes the streams that continue to within the Green Line is seen by them as beneficial – because it does damage to Israel, and overrides the fact that the PA's citizens have to live with the lack of sewage treatment.
When we invested large sums of money to build a sewage pipeline the length of the Kaneh Reserve and sanitized it, we turned to the Mukhtar of one of the adjoining villages and suggested that he connect to the pipeline without charge. He was overjoyed at the offer of fresh water, but that pipeline is still awaiting his move to connect to it. Why is that? Because the PA warned him that if he connects his village to running water [provided by Israel], he will pay the price.
This only begins to explain the palpable disgust the Arab man in the street feels towards his leaders.
The thwarting of a Hamas takeover in Judea and Samaria that we were told about this past week, proves that Abbas survives due to IDF protection. Instead of being grateful for the mere fact that he is willing to talk to us, Israel should demand something in exchange for his continued survival: cooperation and de facto peace, an end to incitement, a change in the educational system and an end to terror in Judea and Samaria, all this guaranteed by the top leaders of the PA's infrastructure.

SUPPORT PRO-ISRAEL CAMPAIGNS

What does it mean to say that casualties are “disproportionate”?

On “NBC Nightly News” on July 12, David Gregory spoke of growing pressure from the United Nations for a ceasefire in Gaza. He noted that the United States and many other nations believed that Israel had a right to self-defense. Nonetheless, Gregory reported, these countries were likely to be sympathetic to calls for a ceasefire because of the “disproportionate” number of casualties between the two sides. Among the residents of Gaza, the death toll then exceeded 100, while Israel had suffered dozens of injuries but no casualties.

The implication of the “disproportionality” claim is that, given their losses, the people of Gaza are the real victims. But morally and politically, this is an intolerable and distorted interpretation of the realities in the region.

The reason that Hamas has not killed more Israelis is not because they haven’t tried. In the seven years during which it has controlled Gaza, Hamas and its proxies have fired more than 5000 rockets into Israel; almost 800 have been launched just this past week. Each one has been aimed at civilians and intended to murder and maim. The reason that more Israelis have not died is that the weapons are mostly crude and inaccurate and that, over time, Israel has prepared herself with shelters, warning sirens and an anti-missile system. In addition, Israelis have been just plain lucky.

But that luck could change at any moment. If a single rocket were to hit a school or a mall, the number of dead could balance out in a flash. Then, to be sure, you would have “proportionality,” but there is no moral calculus by which additional dead civilians is a preferable outcome.

For Israel, the fundamental issue is the responsibility of its government to protect its citizens. As missiles have fallen on her cities over the years, the government has not succeeded in providing that protection. The reasons are many, including sensitivity to American wishes and a concern for world opinion; but the desire not to hurt the innocent is the most important. Now, however, as children in the south continue to live in terror and civilians throughout Israel flee to shelters several times daily, Israel’s leaders have concluded that they must act.

There is something bizarre, in fact, about the idea of “proportionality” being used as a moral criticism against Israel. A proportional response by Israel to the attacks of the last seven years would mean that every time a rocket is fired by Hamas at an Israeli civilian center, Israel would respond by firing a rocket at a civilian center in Gaza. Israel, of course, rejected that, then and now. Still, when Hamas violated the ceasefire yet again and got its hands on longer-range rockets, something had to be done.

The best way to evaluate Israel’s action is to imagine how we as Americans would respond to similar provocations. Assume the following: a terrorist group embedded in Mexico that the Mexican government refused to disarm is firing missiles into Houston night after night, endangering American lives. Our government would not wait a week or a month; indeed, it would not wait a single day before taking action to assure the well-being of her citizens. In fact, we need only remember how American forces flew half way around the world to engage in a war in Afghanistan against terrorists who carried out an attack on American soil. The talk then was not of proportionality, but of providing security for our country and stopping those who wished to do us harm.

Of course, let us not think for a moment, God forbid, that we can be indifferent to the death of innocents. The death of any child, Israeli or Arab, Muslim or Jew, is an unspeakable tragedy that rends the heart. Israel must do everything humanly possible to avoid the civilian casualties; already she issues warnings and calls for evacuation of areas about to be attacked, and must do more. Still, for any country, morality begins with a reasonable measure of security for her own citizens, and it is not right to say that Israel must protect Palestinian civilians at the cost of abandoning her own.

The issue was never “proportionality”; it is the suffering and dying of too many Arabs and Jews. And while there is much that is complicated about the Middle East, ending the violence in Gaza is not complicated. Hamas needs to halt the missile attacks and provide credible assurances to Israel and the world that they will not be resumed. If the rockets stop, quiet can come tomorrow. And tomorrow is not soon enough.

Hamas to overtake the Palestinian Authority?
NO, ITS THEIR FRIEND, (not)
who knew? Netanyahu suspected.

Abbas: Hamas Coup Has 'Implications' for the Palestinian People

PA Chairman says that Israel's exposure of a planned Hamas coup "is a real danger to the unity of the Palestinian people."

Mahmoud Abbas

Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas commented on Monday evening for the first time about the Israel Security Agency’s (Shin Bet) revelation that it foiled a Hamas network's plot to carry out a coup in Judea and Samaria.
In a statement quoted on Channel 2 News, Abbas said that the implications of the revealed plot “will be serious for the Palestinian and regional situation, especially after Israeli officials published a list and pictures of confiscated weapons."
Abbas stressed that the reports endanger the unity of the Palestinian people as its leadership tries to form a unity government.
"We are living in the shadow of the war in Gaza and under the shadow of thepresence of a unity government, which is why this new information is a real danger to the unity of the Palestinian people and its future," he said, according to Channel 2 News.
According to the Shin Bet, the Hamas infrastructure in Judea and Samaria was controlled by a Hamas HQ in Turkey. The plot was to carry out a series of cruel terror attacks against Israel and create a situation of security instability, then take advantage of that situation to take over the PA.
Israel announced that 93 Hamas terrorists were arrested in the operation. Of these, 46 were taken to interrogation by the ISA. Hamas terror funds amounting to over 600,000 shekels (about $170,000) were confiscated and weapons including 54 guns, 6 handguns and 7 RPGs were seized.
The network was assisted by an additional array in Jordan and on carriers, who carried funds amounting to over 2 million NIS into Judea and Samaria for the purchase of weapons and hideout apartments.
Responding to the revelation, Finance Committee Chairman MK Nissan Slomiansky (Jewish Home) on Monday called to suspend all notions of renewed peace talks.
"Today, once again, it was proven that it is impossible to abandon the security of Israel and the Palestinian Authority," said Slomiansky. "It's time to wake up from the dreamland that the Left lives in and understand that only a constant military and political presence in Judea and Samaria will prevent Gush Dan [Tel Aviv area - ed.] from becoming 'the Judea and Samaria belt' [a reference to the 'Gaza belt' region - ed.]."
Deputy Minister Ofir Akunis (Likud) agreed.
"The Hamas coup proves that whoever thought that the establishment of a unity government between Fatah and Hamas in the Palestinian Authority would mean the PA could control Hamas was wrong," Akunis fired. "Reality has proven that the opposite almost happened, where Hamas nearly took over the PA in Judea and Samaria."
"This publication is a warning sign," Akunis continued. "It sharpens the understanding that we should not acquiesce to the Left's dreams, illusions, and innocence, which could turn into a nightmare for all of us."
The discovery calls into question the claim by several leftist MKs - as well as most of the international community, including the UNEU, and even the US - that the PA's "government of technocrats" was impervious to Hamas terror.
By contrast, several nationalist politicians - including Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu himself - predicted that the unity pact would lead to a Hamas takeover in Judea and Samaria.

Op-Ed: An Open Letter to the Jew-haters

The self hating Jew

While the US 'Reviews,' EU Calls for Disarming Hamas

American vacillation over demands to disarm terrorist groups in Gaza contrasts with Europe's surprising support of Israeli position.

MY COMMENT:
Why this difference?
The answer has to do with America not experiencing the "Arab Spring"
Europe knows and had a taste of these people and know what they are capable of.
America is prideful and naive that it will never come to their shores, so they react with hypocrisy.

Though the United States is still Israel's "best friend," it is the European Union which called again today for ''all terrorist groups in Gaza to disarm."
The EU statement, issued in Brussels after a meeting of EU Foreign Ministers on Friday, declared that a "return to the status quo prior to the latest conflict is not an option."
Israel is pleased with the EU's call for disarming Hamas. Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said, "Israel welcomes the [EU] ministers' repeated calls for the terrorist organizations in Gaza to disarm."
"A commitment to the principle of demilitarization, which will be implemented by an effective monitoring mechanism, will ensure that the situation changes fundamentally," Palmor added.
On the other hand, the two top US Administration officials - President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry – have made it clear that disarming Gaza is not a priority. Asked if the Obama Administration endorses the Israeli demand to disarm Hamas, a top National Security official said only that "one would hope" that "some form of demilitarization" would be a result of a ceasefire. And Kerry didn't even go that far; all he said was, "All of the issues of Gaza would be on the table."
The Senate, on the other hand, has been outspoken about the need to disarm Hamas. It has not passed any formal resolutions to this effect, but many Senators have gone on record in favor of making this an integral feature of any ceasefire.
On Thursday, the day before the EU statement, US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Marie Harf spent several long minutes attempting to reconcile the Administration's "review" of munitions deliveries to Israel and the "no change" in the general policy towards Israel. Specifically, she said, "Given the crisis in Gaza, it’s natural that agencies take additional care to review deliveries as part of an interagency process. That is by no means unusual and, again, does not indicate any change in policy."
She then said this was not actually a "review," but rather "taking a second look."
Challenged as to the purpose of a "second look" if there was no policy change, she again called it a review, then later changed it to "looking again," etc.
Back and forth the point was belabored; one reporter asked, "If you’re undertaking a review with a lowercase ‘r’, or a second look or – again, whatever you want to call it – that that would stand to reason that perhaps at the end of that look that you might make some kind of policy change."
Harf negated this, and so on and so forth, until finally one impatient correspondent asked, "Can we go to Ukraine, please?"

WE NEED

THIS KIND OF MODERATE

Abbas's Fatah Declares a Return to Terror Against Israel

Terror wing of 'moderate' Abbas's Fatah displays massive arsenal in Gaza video after taking part in Hamas war, vows to increase attacks.

Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction, often touted internationally as a "moderate" alternative to Hamas, has declared its intentions to further increase its terror attacks against Israeli citizens.
new video released to YouTube by Fatah's "military wing," the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, declares the unity of Fatah's various military branches, and announces a recent decision to strengthen Fatah's military activities.
Filming in what they term a "joint operations room" in Gaza, the Fatah terrorists are seen in the video proudly displaying three-barrel rocket launchers, anti-tank rocket launchers, assault rifles and portable communications devices.

Fatah's Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades

One of the terrorists is filmed telling the camera that "the rifle" was and remains the only option to "free the occupied lands," and that Fatah has never abandoned the path of violent terrorism.
As demonstrated by the armed presence in Gaza, Fatah's Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades has reportedly taken an active part in the terror war being fought against Israel from Gaza, joining Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other terror organizations against Israel during Operation Protective Edge.
In Judea and Samaria, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades have likewise declared"open war" on the Jewish state.
The declaration has been followed by numerous Fatah terror attacks, including a shooting attack south of Bethlehem last Sunday, after another shooting attack the Sunday before in Neve Tzuf. On Monday, a wanted Fatah terrorist was killed by IDF forces near Shechem after he refused to turn himself in and opened fire on the soldiers.
While there has been a common perception globally that Abbas's Fatah is somehow more "moderate" and accessible as a peace partner than Hamas or other alternative groups, Fatah has been open about its goals to destroy Israel.
The group just last Sunday falsely claimed to have murdered 11,000 Israelis, and has likely called for the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Israel.
Fatah's position is in line with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) charter of 1968, which calls for "armed struggle" and "armed revolution," declaring "armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine," and calling on local Arabs to "be prepared for the armed struggle."
Following the charter, the PLO and Fatah were defined internationally as terror organizations, a status which was removed during the 1993 Oslo Accords process.

Akunis: How Can Schabas be Taken Seriously?

Likud MK dismisses UN's probe on Gaza, points out the anti-Israel stance of the head of the panel, William Schabas.
Ofir Akunis

MK Ofir Akunis (Likud) dismissed on Sunday the United Nations’ probe into Israel’s alleged “war crimes” in Gaza during Operation Protective Edge.
In a post on his Facebook page, Akunis pointed out the statements against Israel and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that have been made in the past by the head of the United Nations Human Rights Council panel, William Schabas.
“Hello William Schabas, after you have failed to recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization. And after you have already stated that Israel has committed crimes against humanity and said that Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is the most dangerous man to survival of Israel and the person he would most like to see in the Hague. After all this, you still think anyone could believe that the committee that you have been appointed head of is objective, serious, and in touch with reality?” he wrote.
Akunis also pointed out a serious error made by Schabas, who fingered Netanyahu for Israel’s Operation Cast Lead in 2009, even though that operation took place when Netanyahu was leader of the opposition and Ehud Olmert was Prime Minister.
“And after a renowned professor of international law such as yourself could get wrong the most basic of facts such as blaming Prime Minister Netanyahu for his actions in Operation ‘Cast Lead’, while in fact the Prime Minister at the time was Mr. Ehud Olmert. Could this be taken seriously?” he wrote.
“This is simply not serious at all. In fact the only serious thing that an honorable man could do, is to one step down from the position he has been appointed to,” concluded Akunis.
Since being tapped for the UNHRC Gaza probe, Schabas did not deny in an interview last Wednesday with Israel's Channel 2 that the international community has a double standard regarding Israel's conduct of war.
In that same interview, Schabas refused to define Hamas as a terrorist organization, saying he would need to consult with the two other members of the UNHRC committee before stating an opinion to avoid any "predispositions" in judgement.
A video from a 2013 panel recently surfaced, in which Schabas clearly revealed his eagerness to prosecute Israel over its actions in Gaza, even if that involved “twisting things and maneuvering” in the international legal arena.
Akunis’s post was referring to another video which was exposed on Sunday, and in which Schabas said, “Frankly, if I had to think of an individual who would be the greatest threat for the survival of Israel, I'd probably choose Netanyahu.”
Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman has called on Israel not to cooperate with the UN’s probe. Finance Minister Yair Lapid called the UNHRC committee "a ridiculous committee of ridiculous commissionership, that instead of investigating the murder of millions of Muslims by other Muslims, investigates the most moral army on the planet; this is a disgrace for the UN."

Op-Ed: Obama Must be Told: Israel is not a Vassal State
It is time to use the responses to accusations and slander that Jabotinsky and Begin wrote.

In the midst of the hot Israeli summer, while Israel continues on with life, and Hamas remains focused on harming innocent people, President Obama decided to stop shipping missles to Israel, and reportedly "tightened weapons shipmentprocedures to Israel."

"it is long overdue to respond to all...accusations, reproaches, suspicions, slanders and denunciations by simply folding our arms and loudly, clearly, coldly and calmly answer,'Go to Hell!' (Jabotinsky)

America harms Israel during a time of war - and the best words to tell Obama are the eloquent words of Ze’ev Jabotinsky, the Zionist leader who in 1911 wrote a piece entitled “Go to Hell!” - the perfect words for Obama to hear today.
"President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry, please note the message below:
Israel is not answerable to even her friends.
The words of Jabotinsky may not be said to you by anyone because of political convenience, but decent people all over the world agree with the wise words of Jabotinsky who wrote then, "“..there is nothing to apologize for, and nobody to apologize to – it is long overdue to respond to all current and future accusations, reproaches, suspicions, slanders and denunciations by simply folding our arms and loudly, clearly, coldly and calmly answer,'Go to Hell!'
Israel will not fold - and cannot fold.
It is necessary for Israel to say no to President Obama when he endangers the Jewish State.
Prime Minister Begin wrote a letter in 1980, when America criticized Israel after the IDF bombed Iraq's nuclear reactor.  These words should be remembered by you, President Obama - from Begin's letter:
“Now you once again declare that you are punishing Israel. What kind of expression is this — “punishing Israel”? Are we a vassal state of yours? Are we a banana republic? Are we youths of 14 who, if they don’t behave properly, are slapped across the fingers?Let me tell you who this government is composed of. It is composed of people whose lives were spent in resistance, in fighting and in suffering. You will not frighten us with “punishments.” He who threatens us will find us deaf to his threats. We are only prepared to listen to rational arguments."
You have no right to “punish” Israel — and I protest at the very use of this term.
The people of Israel have lived 3,700 years without a memorandum of understanding with America — and it will continue to live for another 3,700."
Am Israel Chai. The Jewish People live.

As so many know, that the leader of a Nation know what is best for that Nation.

Where is American Jewry?

By Dr. Joseph Frager

Operation Protective Edge was a Defensive War to prevent catastrophe to the State of Israel. Brave, and heroic young Israeli soldiers gave it their all. Unfortunately, 67 of our brethren perished plus the killing of Naftali Fraenkel, Gilad Shaar, and Eyal Yifrach making the total 70.
A more thorough destruction of Hamas could have been achieved if American Jews would have raised their voices. As it stands now Hamas has been allowed to live another day. It should never have been given the chance after Operation Cast Lead in 2008. That war was ended abruptly by President Obama in one of his first foreign policy actions soon after he was elected. The dye was cast back then but gets very little play in the Media. It shadowed things to come.
It is, to borrow from the colloquial, deja vu all over again. Hamas is going to try to restock all its missiles and then some, build new tunnels, and come up with even more novel ways of terrorizing Israel and the world. Mubarak who was a friend of Israel and the West did not prevent them in 2008 and General Sisi will not prevent them in 2014. American Jews have a responsibility to help, in any way they can, our brethren on the front lines.
Yes, the President is the rate limiting step no matter how much American Jewry does to raise an outcry. Ten years ago it would have been a given to see the ADL, American Jewish Committee (this is not intended to single out any organization in particular) and many other "establishment" organizations take out ads in all of the major Newspapers decrying the irresponsibility of the Media's reporting of the War as well as imploring the President to allow Israel to do the job unimpeded and undeterred against a common enemy(designated unequivocally as a Terrorist Organization by the State Department). The President and his Secretary of State were far from consistent in their handling of the war. At times they were downright obtrusive and borderline Anti-Israel.
Yes, the President signed into law the Iron Dome Funding but he would have had a mutiny on his hands from his fellow Democrats if he did not. It certainly did not make up for all of the angry rhetoric aimed at Israel-America's only true Ally in the Middle East. American Jews should have been greatly insulted by many of his remarks. There should have been outrage. Instead there was silence. Going forward, Israel needs to hear from  American Jewry more than ever. It is not enough to sit back and say Israel can handle it. Too many lives are at stake. We have the luxury of influencing policy from afar. Midterm elections are coming. Jews can show the President their dismay at the voting booth. The Media can be held with its feet to the fire too. Their coverage was atrocious. All we saw were the effects of tragic scenes of collateral damage.
Never was Hamas blamed for creating the collateral damage in the first place. Not one Hamas terrorist was shown firing rockets from Schools, Hospitals, UN installations and Mosques. The enemy was never shown for what it was. Only Israel was blamed and demonized. American Jewry has a responsibility to make sure the Media is fair and unbiased. Blogs, Letters to the Editor, Emails to Media Outlets and Publishers, and overall outrage at the distortion, lies, and irresponsibility all helps. Wake up Jews of America, it is time to act.

Why does Hamas think that it has so much power?
Because it is getting International legitimacy?
Not too long ago, America and other nations said that this entity was a
terrorist organization and it still is.
Israel is caught up in the "less are killed",
so you must be bad.

Wake up, the Hamas caused the Palestinians to be killed forcefully by using them as pawns of this war.
There is plenty of evidence to prove this fact.

Why would you think that a Peace-Loving Nation would want to bomb or kill people?

"Israel cannot be a prisoner of Hamas. Operation Protective Edge must end with a mortal blow to Hamas’s capabilities, eliminating the leaders of Hamas and achieving deterrence,"

"It is time for the Israeli government to keep its promises to the public, bring back the security to the citizens of Israel and stop the rocket fire into Israel in general and communities in the south in particular,”

"It seems there is no other way," emphasized Regev. “All attempts to reach an agreement with Hamas have ended and are doomed to fail because it is a dangerous terrorist organization which aims to destroy Israel. We have seen that all the diplomatic elements cannot influence a terrorist organization.”

Op-Ed: Israel Now; Greece, the EU, and America, Next

A safe and secure Israel is not the cause of world instability and conflict, but the cornerstone of world peace and security. The writer shows how to take this abstract concept and convince non-Jews of the threat to the West.

Israel, Western Civilization, and moderate Islam are in for the fight of their lives, but only Israel realizes it.
Therefore, Jews everywhere must positively engage in the marketplace of ideas, and explain to their freedom-loving non-Jews and Jews that if Israel is destroyed, the destruction of the West and of moderate Islam will all soon follow.  PM Netanyahu just articulated a universal “call to arms” warning amounting to “Israel now, Everyone next.”  We must learn to take the PM's strategic ideas and form them into explainable words, maps, and graphics “so even a caveman could understand it.” I have created a brief hyper-linked, multi-media explanatory chronology of the “Israel Now, Free-World Next” analysis.  Please watch and read my maps, then decide!
On August 7, 2014, Israeli Prime Minister spoke to foreign journalists stating:
“What you have right now is this terrific conflagration in the Middle East.  You have ISIS taking swaths of Iraq and Syria.  It’s now pushing into, right into to Lebanon and perhaps into Jordan. . . . Now, look, they’re all fighting among themselves, but they all agree that once they destroy, vanquish their Muslim moderates who don’t share their views and they behead them and do horrible things to them - then they have to get to Israel, which is the Western country in the region. . .
Netanyahu to the West: '..we’re the Small Satan. For all of them, you’re the Great Satan.'
”.
PM Netanyahu continued: “Now, this is the danger: that you have 21st century weapons with early medieval doctrines here, wedded together.  And this is a great danger for the world. Israel is on the front line facing this terrible force and should be given support and who is the world supporting them? Is it supporting Hamas, this terrorist tyranny is of the worst kind, and is cruel to not only to us, but to its own people? Or is it supporting this vibrant, beleaguered democracy, Israel, that is trying to legitimately defend itself? And I think everybody should ask themselves that question, because by supporting Israel, you're supporting yourself."
Israel's Prime Minister concluded the interview with CANAL+iTele by stating: "It’s not Israel’s battle. It’s your battle. It’s the battle of France, because it’s the same battle. If they succeed here, if Israel’s the one that’s blamed here and not the terrorists, if we don’t stand together, then this terror plague will come to you. It’s just a question of time. It will come to you, it will come to France." (My Comment: And you all deserve the EVIL that you put up with or SUPPORT)
In his August 7 press conference, PM Netanyahu,  in essence, declared that: Israel is Western Civilization’s first, and last, line of defense against a fatal and irreversible nuclear-armed Islamist tidal wave. How does one take this abstract concept, and practically, calmly, and conclusively explain it to non-Jewish and possibly anti-Semitic, Greek, French, Sunni-moderate Muslim, or Italian next-door neighbors?
You can explain the reality of “Israel now, EU/NATO/Moderate Islam tomorrow,” not by quoting Netanyahu, but by showing them strategic gaming-maps that are clear and understandable.
To understand and be able to explain to a doubting anti-Semitic non-Jewish next-door neighbor the enormity, relevance, and catastrophic meaning of PM Netanyahu’s briefing statement, let’s review the available visual material:
1. On November 25, 2011, Arutz Sheva ran a news article, “US Topographer: Israel is Greece and Cyprus’ Line of Defense.”
The article stated:
Mark Langfan recently released his "Western Theater" graphic, which provides concrete evidence that Israel is the one and only line of defense against an Islamic Tsunami that will sweep over Greece and Cyprus, the only country that has the capability to wage the war that will protect Cyprus and Greece.
Speaking in his capacity as an Israeli security analyst, Mr. Langfan said, "without Israel’s order of battle and very existence, it would be impossible for NATO to defend Greece, let alone Cyprus, from a Turkish/Muslim Brotherhood tidal wave which would lay waste to everything in the eastern Mediterranean. Whether NATO likes it or not, Israel is a now the heart and soul of NATO’s southeastern flank.””
2.  The next day, Phileleftheros, the largest newspaper in Cyprus, published a front-page, top-row, full-page news article on the Arutz Sheva Langfan/Strategic maps article featuring the “Western Theater” graphic maps translated in Greek, and favorably reviewing it.
3. On February 3, 2012, Arutz Sheva published my op-ed, “Israel: A Priceless Strategic Military Asset for the US.”  In this op-ed (which has many linked graphics and videos), I wrote: “Without Israel as the bulwark against the waxing Islamic tsunami to the East, there will be a direct Islamic military threat to the very doorstep of Europe.  Without Israel, how many trillions--trillions--of dollars will the US have to spend to defend Greece, and NATO from such “clear and present” danger to Western civilization?  Or, as the Visa commercial would say of Israel’s present-day strategic value to the US: Priceless.”
4. On August 30, 2012, Arutz Sheva published a news story describing a short 4-minute graphic video (which has Hebrew sub-titles) showing the consequences to the remaining middle east of a weakened and destroyed Israel, “How Important is Israel to the U.S.? Check the Map”
The news article’s author stated of the Langfan video portraying  that “If Israel is destroyed – or even if it is allowed to survive (temporarily) in a cowed, defensive state, the Islamist front, led by Iran, would continue with its agenda to take over the Middle East. First to go would be Jordan, which Syria has coveted for decades, and which Islamists despise because of King Abdullah's ties with the West.”
5. On May 21, 2014, in an Arutz Sheva op-ed entitled, “Israel, the Cornerstone of the Western World,” I created another 4-minute graphic video, ( video with Hebrew sub-titles) (with Spanish sub-titles) and (with Italian sub-titles) and a direct word-for-word op-ed that explained the military consequences to NATO and Russia if Israel were (G-d forbid) to be destroyed.
I wrote, “So, the cold, hard reality is that Israel is protecting all of NATO, Western Europe, America, and Russia from an Iranian/Muslim nuclear-armed Colossus that will overrun them all before The Morning’s Call to Prayer."
"Therefore, Israel is the first, and last line-of-defense for NATO, the USA, the EU and Russia, against an Iranian/Muslim 370 million-man-strong nuclear-armed Oil-rich Colossus"
"A safe and secure Israel is not the cause of world instability and conflict, but the cornerstone of world peace and security. And it is a light of democracy and freedom unto the nations of the world.”
6. Finally, on June 10, 2014, in an Arutz Sheva op-ed entitled, “160M Muslims Against 1M Cypriots = 1M Dead Cypriots,” I concluded:
“In short, if G-d forbid, anything ever happened to Israel, Christian Cyprus would be wiped away by the Turks and the Egyptians before one could say 'Mohammad'.”
The Greek Golden Dawn Nazis are going to have to make a choice.  Do they want 1,000,000 dead Greek Christian Cypriots, or do they want Greek Cyprus to continue to exist.  If they want Greek Cyprus, they may continue to hate the Jews, but they had better learn to love Israel - and fast.  Otherwise, their Nazi Golden Dawn will rapidly turn in a Muslim Black Dusk for the Christian Greeks in the Mediterranean area.
"It is the Israelis who are protecting the 1 million Greek Cypriots on Cyprus.”
While the IDF men and women, on the front lines, are bravely risking their lives for all of us, the least we can do is clearly explain Israel’s vital strategic importance to the world in the comfort of the rear-echelon.  Everyone must learn to engage and calmly explain Israel’s vital importance to the West and moderate Muslims, or we will all face a catastrophic, irreversible peril.
